After a thorough review of technologies available on the market, Data Electronics selected one of the world’s leading storage vendors, Hitachi Data Systems, as the platform of choice.
In essence, our managed storage offering is a ‘Gigabytes on Demand’ service. This allows our clients to utilise all the performance and scalability benefits derived from an enterprise storage offering, but instead of facing the €100,000’s cost associated with such a platform. The usual associated operational costs are invisible to our clients, as they merely pay a competitive fee for the storage capacity they commit to.
Increasing storage capacity requires only a configuration change without a service interruption. Additional capacity can be in place within hours. Customer servers are fibre linked to the SAN with Host Bus Adapters (HBA’s) installed in their servers. The fully redundant architecture provides 100% Data Availability SLA for mission critical applications. Data Electronics can manage the entire system including providing, installing and managing the HBA in the customer equipment.
